Meet the Team: James, Trustee

7 January 2026

We’re pleased to introduce you to James, one of our newest Trustees at RSPCA Norwich.

He’ll be part of our Board of Trustees, a group of volunteers who are responsible for the governance and strategy and the Branch.

We asked him five questions to get to know him better.

What drew you to becoming a Trustee of RSPCA Norwich?

Animals have always been a big part of my life. Seeing the work the Branch does first hand really inspired me to get involved. I’ve had the joy of sharing my life with several rescues, each one with their own story and quirks, and becoming a trustee felt like a natural way to give something back by contributing to the work the Branch does ensuring as many animals as possible get the love and care they deserve.

What are you hoping to achieve as a new Trustee?

My professional background is in technology and product leadership, and I’ve spent much of my career helping organisations grow and strengthen their operations. I’m keen to bring that experience to the charity, supporting its future growth and stability so we can reach and help more animals across the county. Most of all, I want to make a meaningful contribution to a cause that matters deeply to me.

What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend?

Walking the dogs at Winterton beach followed by a lasagna at the Fisherman’s Return

If you could have any animal in the world as a pet, what would it be?

Any breed of sighthound is fine. The more stubborn the better.

If you could have dinner with any fictional character who would it be?

Dr Dolittle. So I can know what my dogs say about me behind my back.
