As well as our adoption and rehoming work, we provide a variety of services and support for pet owners to help them care for their animals.

Financial Aid

We work alongside select veterinary partners to deliver a reduced cost neutering and microchipping service for pet owners that live within our Branch area.

Subsidised neutering is available for cats, dogs and rabbits and can be applied for through our online application at the link below. These vouchers are valid for six months and can also include a free microchip if you need one.

We also offer financial aid for veterinary bills on a case by case basis. As a charity, we are unfortunately limited in our resources so are not always able to offer assistance but will always try to or signpost if appropriate.

If you live within our Branch area and need financial assistance please get in touch.

How it works

We understand that many pet owners are concerned by the rising cost of living and the impact this is having on their ability to pay for their animals vet bills. If you are needing some financial assistance with a vet bill, here is what you need to know.

Contact Us

Give us a call or send us an email

If you need some help with a vet bill, the first step is to always contact us by phone or email. We understand it’s not always easy to ask for help but please be rest assured that we offer a non judgemental, transparent service to anyone that needs our advice or support. We do not ask for any proof of benefits but unfortunately we can only offer this service to those that live within our Branch area.

You can find your local Branch here but if you are uncertain please contact us and we can point you in the right direction.

We take down some details

The next step is that we will ask you some questions about the reason you are calling, your contact information and the animal that needs veterinary care such as their name, registered vet and breed.

This is so we can contact the vets directly once we confirm if we are able to assist with the veterinary costs. Unfortunately we are limited in how often we can help as we are a small charity with limited funding but can advise on alternative sources of funding should you need them.

We contact you and confirm with the vets

Our friendly Receptionist will then pass your information on to the Animal Welfare Team who will look at your application and contact you if we are able to help.

They’ll then contact the vet directly and ask them to amend the bill accordingly.

Vaccinations (as well a flea and worm treatment) are seen as a standard requirement for pets so unfortunately, financial aid is not provided for this. We recommend you speak to your vets about a health plan that will cover regular costs.
