This Christmas, there will be lots of animals in our care without a home to call their own. This includes Cheese and Crackers, Dave, Polo and the 'Nemo' Kittens.

This year we have taken over 500 animals into our care, giving them a safe space to rest and rehabilitate on their way to their new forever homes.

So far we have found homes for over 400 of them but through no fault of their own, there will still be many cats, dogs, small furries and exotics spending their Christmas with us this year.

"this may be the first Christmas that Dave has ever had in a warm and loving environment..."

This includes Dave, a sweet and gentle tuxedo cat who came to us as an injured stray earlier this year.

Despite his age, Dave has already had a lifetime of hardship and came to us covered in scars and with an open wound on his neck. This brave little tuxedo cat hasn’t let his sad beginnings stop him though and he is absolutely full of love and affection for our team. He loves having his head scratched and getting lots of treats and cuddles from our fantastic cattery team.

It’s very likely that this may be the first Christmas that Dave has ever had in a warm and loving environment so we would love to make it the best Christmas ever.

For some of our animals this will be their first Christmas in a new, unfamiliar home after their previous owners have signed them into our care.

This is Polo’s story, a beautiful pup who will be spending her first Christmas without an owner after her previous carer could no longer look after her. Polo has a degenerative bone disorder called a luxating patella which makes it difficult for her to walk properly.

This is also the story of Cheese and Crackers, two adorable guinea pigs who were purchased by a student who was then unable to take them home after their studies. These two adorable guinea pigs came into our care in a carrier bag and are now safe and sound with one of our fosterers.

Some of the animals in our care are also with us because they are sadly, too poorly to find their forever homes.

Bubbles, Peaches, Coral and Blenny are four adorable kittens that were born into a house of thirteen cats and signed over to us when their owner was at risk of being evicted. Sadly they brought with them a stomach bug so are needing to be isolated from other cats.

These are only a few of the cats, dogs, small furries and exotics that will be staying with us over Christmas and every other will have their own sad story of neglect, abandonment or loss. This Christmas please donate to one of their stockings using the link below and help us make this a festive season extra special for local animals in Norfolk.
