Meet Dave!
This festive little lad is Dave, a sweet boy who came into our care as an emergency on Easter Sunday of this year as an injured stray.
It’s unknown how long exactly he had been alone on the streets for but it was clear from his appearance that he’d already had a lifetime of hardship.
On entry Dave had a large wound under his left ear believed to be from a cat bite from fighting due to being an unneutered male. He was ridden with fleas and covered in scars. Dave has overcome an immense amount of work carried out by our dedicated welfare team, veterinary partners and cattery staff. This has involved daily cleans, medication and assessments, all of which he has taken in his stride.
From day one, despite his sad history, Dave was an absolute sweetheart who liked cuddles, head rubs and treats! He’s quickly become a staff favourite and after seven months his wounds have now healed and we are monitoring his progress daily with the hope he will be able to find a home of his own in the New Year.
This Christmas, we need your help to make Dave’s first Christmas in a safe, loving space a happy one. He’s already in the festive spirit, now donning a Christmassy version of his usual buster collar which he has to wear everyday, but would appreciate some festive treats to make his first proper Christmas a special one!
