If you have found a sick or injured animal, please take it to your closest veterinary practice if possible, or call the National RSPCA Helpline on 0300 1234 999.
If you have found a cat that is healthy and appears tame, (i.e. not feral and allows you to touch it), there is a high chance that it belongs to somebody. There are a number of things you can do to find out if the cat has an owner:
- You can view all animals that have been reported lost to us on our Lost Pets page.
- Download and print a paper collar. These collars are easy to put on to a cat and ask the owner to contact you directly if the cat belongs to them.
- Contact us with a photo and information about the animal
- Take the cat to a vet so the cat can be scanned for a microchip.
- Ask around the neighbourhood
If you have found a dog, please contact the council for the area you found it in. The telephone numbers for the different councils in Norfolk and Suffolk can be found here. If the council are unable to attend immediately, you can take the dog to a veterinary practice to be checked for a microchip.
If you have found a wild animal that appears to be sick or injured, contact the National RSPCA Helpline on 0300 1234 999 if they are not, you can try rescues for that specific species.
