Our Rebranding Journey: A new look for your local RSPCA
24 June 2024
You may have noticed that we’re looking a little different lately! We’ve joined RSPCA branches across the UK to welcome in a new look and take part in a national rebrand led by RSPCA England and Wales.
Why? A few reasons...
Firstly, the former RSPCA logo was designed in the 1970s, and we agreed it was time to create an identity that’s more inviting and welcoming as well as brighter and bolder.
Secondly, while preventing cruelty to animals will always remain at the core of our delivery, our operations have grown vastly over the last 60 years, and we feel a new look was a great way to reflect our growth and mark our 60th anniversary, as well as the national Branch’s 200th year anniversary.
How did it happen?
The National RSPCA Branch presented us with a choice of animals to incorporate into our logo, from snails and badgers to pigs and hedgehogs – after some deliberation, we agreed that a rabbit best reflected our values and will be our go-to icon moving forward.
Much like the animals we support, rabbits are both wild and domestic, they are neutered, chipped, bonded, adopted and also have the cruelty free symbolism attached to them through leaping bunny. For these reasons, we thought it is a great holistic example of our work.
A new colour palette, new icons, new photography, new fonts – lots to get used to! But we’re starting to get the hang of things. It’ll take a little while to update our website, vans and uniform, but we wanted to show our loyal supporters our new branding and let you know why we decided to take part in the national rebrand.
Has it changed our vision?
Not at all! Most importantly, while we might look different these days, we are still your local RSPCA Branch and supporting animals and communities across Norfolk and Suffolk is at the heart of everything we do.
We operate under the same Branch name and charity number and continue to deliver vital projects through our animal welfare, education, events and retail operations.
