Our team’s guide to dog-friendly cafes in our Branch area

28 November 2024

1. The Lemon Tree Cafe, Wymondham

Neighbours to our Wymondham charity shop, the friendly team at The Lemon Tree have fuelled our staff with caffeine for many years now. They even have ‘dog-friendly plates’ available on their menu, which includes a tasty sausage or two, with a side of biscuits for an extra crunch.

The Lemon Tree Café have also been great supporters of our One Fun Day fundraising event over the years, showing their shared commitment to animals in need.

2. Centre Paws Farm Cafe, Wymondham

Set on a picturesque farm, the café at Centre Paws is part of a larger dog-friendly hub, complete with walking trails and a secure play area. Enjoy delicious homemade cakes while your dog enjoys the outdoors, finishing your visit with a pup-cup for an extra special treat.

We’ve previously teamed up with Centre Paws for our One Fun Day events and they’ve even co-hosted cupcake days for us at our charity shops over the years.

3. The Taverham Mill Cafe and Nature Reserve

Nestled within a serene nature reserve, just a stone’s throw from Norwich, the café at Taverham Mill offers scenic views and a welcoming atmosphere for dogs – as well as the chance to see some highland cattle! Our staff say it’s an ideal spot for a relaxing walk followed by a hearty bite.

4. Huggers, Long Stratton

Known for its warm hospitality, Huggers is a great place to grab a coffee and a treat while your dog soaks up the friendly vibes, as well as plenty of fuss and belly scratches. The outdoor seating is especially popular with pet owners, where dogs can enjoy a doggy icecream in the warmer months.

5. Eaton Park Cafe, Norwich

Located in one of Norwich’s most beautiful parks, Eaton Park Café is a favourite among our team. Somewhere to grab a coffee to-go or relax on the terrace with your pup by your side. Eaton Park Café also offers ice cream for dogs, and the café team says that they ‘welcome customers of all sizes – especially big, fuzzy ones!’

6. Carberrys Cafe, Wensum Street, Norwich

This charming spot in the heart of Norwich combines a love for great coffee with canine companionship. The ideal spot if your dog is also a dog-lover, as you’re bound to be greeted at the door by Toby, the café’s resident golden retriever. Carberry’s Café have been long-time supporters of RSPCA Norwich, previously helping us to raise funds through their collection tins and book sales.

7. Earsham Street Cafe

Located in the heart of Bungay, Earsham Street Café embraces canine visitors – and café staff are certainly a team of dog-lovers! Dogs are invited to join their owners in the charming courtyard garden, which provides a tranquil setting for enjoying the café’s seasonal dishes and canine menu. Suitable all year around, the courtyard offers outdoor heaters and blankets for dog owners, as well as plenty of fuss and a treat-or-two for pets.

8. Gail’s Coffee Rush, Lowestoft

Gail’s Coffee Rush is set upon Dip Farm in Lowestoft, opposite Corton Beach, and nestled among Gunton Woods – offering a choice of scenery with a take-away coffee in hand. It’s impossible to visit Gail’s without spotting a dog (or 10), as it’s the go-to hangout spot for lively pups who enjoy a good run around. The team always have plenty of free dog biscuits on hand, lots of fresh water bowls for a post-walk rehydration, doggy themed drinks and ice cream, and of course a dog-friendly seating area.
