Become a Trustee of the Branch

We are always looking for people to join our Committee as a trustee on the branch's board.

The trustees are currently looking for people with a background in business, finance or HR to supplement the existing skillset of the board of trustees.

Location

RSPCA Norwich & Mid Norfolk Branch

Key activities
To work in conjunction with fellow trustees and employed branch staff as a member of the board of trustees of the branch. To actively participate in branch trustee meetings and make decisions in the best interests of the branch and the RSPCA. Norwich and Mid-Norfolk branch is a long standing RSPCA branch which has been through a period of major change over the last 2 to 3 years but still has plans to expand.

Times & duration of commitment
In order to become a Trustee of a branch, you would need to become a member of the branch for a minimum of 3 months prior to being elected.  You can sign up to becoming a member here.

Once elected on to the Committee, Trustees would be expected to attend monthly committee meetings of 2 to 3 hours duration along with being able to offer the branch regular time each week to carry out strategic work of the branch plans.  Many trustees also take on additional roles in connection with fundraising, financial management, animal care or within our charity shops etc.

Trustees are elected for a 12 month term at each AGM.

Experience / skills / knowledge / personal qualities required
We are currently after trustees that have proven experience and knowledge in either business, finance, marketing, IT, fundraising and/or HR, however if you have a skill set that you feel may be beneficial to the branch then please do get in contact. Trustees would naturally be expected to have regular time available to give to the branch, a strong commitment to animal welfare and support the objectives of the RSPCA.

Training provided
Initial trustee training will be provided and full support will be available from existing trustees and staff.
There would be an initial requirement that a new trustee commits to volunteering in one of the departments of the branch in order to fully understand the operational needs and contraints of the charity.
